Conferentie rond de EU-Mercosur handelsovereenkomst

Op 6 december organiseert de FOD Buitenlandse Zaken een conferentie rond de EU-Mercosur handelsovereenkomst en de impact ervan op de landbouw, de voedselveiligheid, het milieu en het klimaat. Deze conferentie zal plaatsvinden in de Egmont Palace in Brussel.

The objective of this event is twofold:

1. to contribute to an informed debate on the agreement, bringing concrete elements from different perspectives to the table in order to better understand the agreement and its scope, as well as the concerns of the stakeholders; and
2. to take stock of the opportunities and potential risks related to the agreement.

Following a keynote speech by H.E. Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and an introduction by the European Commission, two panel discussions will be organized. The first one will address agriculture and food safety concerns and the second one will discuss the impact on climate and the environment.
